In many rowhouse neighborhoods, whenever the kids would play any kind of ball game (in the pre-cell phone distraction days), if a ball went on the roof, a decision was to be made: Do you retrieve it, or do you leave it?
The same analogy is used with To-Do list projects; ask yourself if you should do them (“retrieve them”), or bail on them (“leave them on the roof”).
The next time you create a task for your to-do list, ask yourself if you should “roof it”.
You just may discover that more balls should be left on the roof than you think!
